Clay Chandler is a highly professional, currently holding the position of Executive Director and Asia Editor at Fortune. In this role, he oversees Fortune's editorial operations in the region, including the Chinese-language edition. During his time at McKinsey, he edited best-selling essay collections on the futures of South Korea, Japan, and India. Prior to his tenure at McKinsey, Clay served as Fortune's Asia Editor from 2002 to 2008. His extensive experience in the field of business, technology, and economic policy stems from his time as a senior staff writer for the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, where he covered these subjects both in the U.S. and Asia. Clay's background includes living in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing, which has allowed him to develop fluency in both Japanese and Mandarin. He is a graduate of Harvard College.
