Lorenzo Fioramonti is a Professor of Political Economy at the University of Pretoria and the founding director of the Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation. He previously served as the Deputy Minister and Minister of Education, University, and Research in Italy from 2018 to 2019, where he introduced pioneering innovations that gained him widespread popularity. Currently, he is a Member of Parliament in Italy and a global advocate for the "wellbeing economy," a concept of development based on social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Fioramonti has collaborated with renowned scientists and Nobel Prize recipients and has authored numerous scientific articles, books, and documentaries, which have been translated into multiple languages. His expertise covers topics such as new economic paradigms, rethinking development, the knowledge economy, sustainability education, and responsible and sustainable business.
