Ricky Hatton is one of the most popular British boxers of all time, holding world title belts in the light-welterweight and welterweight divisions. He made his professional debut in 1997, knocking out Colin McAuley in the first round. This launched his career, and he quickly became one of the top fighters in the world. Ricky's winning streak lasted over a decade, and he won numerous awards, including the British light-welterweight title in 1999 and Young Boxer of the Year. His biggest moment came in 2005 when he defeated Kostya Tszyu to win the IBF light-welterweight title, considered the greatest victory by a British fighter in over 20 years. Ricky continued to dominate the sport, moving up to welterweight and winning the WBA title in 2006. Although he suffered his first professional defeat against Floyd Mayweather Jnr in 2007, Ricky is still regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time. He has since appeared on television and radio shows as a boxing expert. Ricky's achievements include coaching Zhanet Zhakiyanov to a WBA World Bantamweight title in 2017 and receiving an MBE in 2008. He also won the WBC World Light-welterweight title in 2007, the IBF and IBO World Light-welterweight titles in 2007, the WBA World Welterweight title in 2006, and the British Light-welterweight title in 2000, among others.
