Aldo Kane, a former Royal Marines Commando Sniper, is renowned for his expertise in all environments, making him the go-to man for TV and film companies worldwide. Having operated and filmed in over 100 countries, Aldo is the first person they call when things get tough in the TV industry. Over the last seven years, he has worked on more than 45 TV and film productions, many groundbreaking and exciting.
Aldo's experiences are nothing short of extraordinary. He has been held at gunpoint, charged by a black Rhino, abseiled into an active volcano, escaped Ebola, rowed across the Atlantic, and dived on Captain Kidd's pirate ship. And that's just in the last year or two. Aldo's work has been showcased on various broadcasters worldwide, including the BBC, Discovery, Nat-Geo, Channel 4, PBS, ITV, Channel 5, History Channel, and many more. He has appeared on Discovery alongside Hollywood A-listers such as Tom Hardy, Adrien Brody, and Henry Cavill, exploring some of the most extreme environments on Earth. With his inquisitive mind and unique skill set, Aldo is well-suited for hard-hitting investigative journalism missions.
Aldo currently runs a company called Vertical Planet, providing technical safety consultation and risk management for TV and film crews operating in remote, hostile, and high-risk environments across the globe. He recently served as the on-screen Expedition Leader for National Geographic's flagship feature-length Natural History series, "One Strange Rock," hosted by Hollywood star Will Smith. In this role, Aldo led a prominent American scientist deep inside one of Africa's most dangerous volcanoes while it was erupting. At 16, Aldo joined the Royal Marine Commandos and quickly became one of the youngest Elite Commando Reconnaissance Snipers in the UK armed forces. This achievement is no small feat, considering the rigorous and demanding training the Royal Marines undergo.
Aldo has seen active military service from Northern Ireland to the Middle East and has become a survival expert in various environments. He has also become an instructor in many outdoor fields, including Mountain Leader, professional climber, skydiver, re-breather diver, SIA bodyguard, and qualified medic. In 2021, Aldo published his first book, "Lessons From the Edge: Inspirational Tales of Surviving, Thriving, and Extreme Adventure," which was released by Yellow Kite.
