Andrew Rawnsley - Speaker

Andrew Rawnsley is a speaker, commentator, presenter, conference leader, journalist, and author known for analysing politics and current events. Born and raised in England, Rawnsley studied at Cambridge University, where he began his career in journalism, writing for the university's Social Democrats newsletter and later becoming editor of their newspaper, Stop Press. Rawnsley won the Guardian Student Journalist Of The Year Award in 1984 and joined the Guardian as their principal parliamentary sketch writer in 1987. In 1993, he moved to The Observer as their Chief Political Commentator and Associate Editor.
Rawnsley has presented various shows and documentaries as a broadcaster, including co-hosting Channel 4's A Week in Politics with Vincent Hanna and anchoring BBC Radio 4's Westminster Hour. He has also written and presented political documentaries for Channel 4, which are featured in the current affairs series Dispatches. He also became a Fellow Of The Royal Society Of Arts in 2001.
