Aziz Ansari is a well-known actor, comedian, filmmaker, and speaker. He grew up in Bennettsville, South Carolina, and studied marketing at New York University while pursuing a career in comedy. Aziz started performing stand-up comedy in New York City in 2000, inspired by Chris Rock. His big break came in 2007 with the MTV sketch show Human Giant, which he created and starred in for two seasons. Aziz has won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 2016 and 2017 for Master of None, and he made history in 2018 as the first Asian actor to win a Golden Globe in his category. He has released several successful stand-up specials, including Dangerously Delicious (2012), Live in Madison Square Garden (2015), and Right Now (2019). In 2015, he co-authored the best-selling book Modern Romance with sociologist Eric Klinenberg, which explores modern dating and relationships.
