Chris Boardman MBE, a retired British cyclist and Olympic gold medalist, is a speaker and racing bike designer. He is the founder of Boardman Bikes and Boardman Elite. Chris' cycling journey began with an impressive victory at the George Herbert Stancer Schoolboy 10 Mile Championship, where he won his first national time trial. In the early 1990s, he turned professional and succeeded, including winning three stages of the Tour de France and becoming the World Time Trial Champion. Even after retiring in 2000, Chris remained actively involved in the sport. He was a trainer and technical advisor for the British Olympic cycling team, contributing to their success. Additionally, he worked as a sports speaker for ITV, providing commentary for televised cycling events. Throughout his career, Boardman has received numerous accolades and recognition for his contributions to the sport. He has been inducted into the prestigious British Cycling Hall of Fame and was awarded an MBE for his outstanding achievements. Chris has also faced personal challenges, such as being diagnosed with osteoporosis at the age of 30.
