Hazel Findlay is a professional climber who began climbing at the age of six on the limestone sea cliffs of Pembrokeshire. She was a six-time British junior champion in competition climbing but chose to focus on rock climbing, particularly trad climbing, at the age of 16. Over the past five years, she has travelled the world to climb various rock formations. Hazel was the first British woman to climb a trad route at E9 and to free climb El Capitan in Yosemite, which she has accomplished four times. She has also red-pointed 8c, on-sighted many 8as, and climbed 8c+ trad (E11). Hazel enjoys all forms of climbing, from bouldering to alpine climbing, and is particularly interested in the mental challenges involved. As a speaker, she provides entertaining and inspiring talks, offering insights into the psychological aspects of motivation and how to develop the habits necessary to reach one’s full potential.
