BlogLoginGet in TouchJason Kenny, a pro-cyclist, dominated junior competitions in 2006, claiming triple gold at both World and European championships. Debuting in the World Cup later that year, he swiftly contributed to a British victory in Moscow. Despite relative inexperience, Jason's selection for the Beijing Olympics marked a turning point.
At the 2008 Olympics, he played a pivotal role in setting a new world record in the team sprint and clinched gold against French rivals. In the individual sprint, he surged through heats until compatriot Chris Hoy defeated him.
2011 saw a setback at the World Championships, with a loss to Gregory Bauge, later overturned due to Bauge's doping violations. London 2012 witnessed Jason's Olympic supremacy, securing gold in individual and team sprints. His success continued with a world title in keirin in 2013 and another in sprint just before the 2016 Olympics.
Rio 2016 cemented his legacy, as he accumulated seven Olympic medals, including six golds, equalling a British record. His marriage to Laura Kenny (Trott), also an Olympic cyclist, added to their shared achievements. In 2022, they became the first married couple to receive knighthood and damehood in the same UK honours list.
