Jennifer Siebel Newsom is a filmmaker, advocate, and CEO of The Representation Project, a non-profit organization that challenges gender stereotypes. After graduating from Stanford University and Stanford's Graduate School of Business, Jennifer worked in Africa and Latin America supporting women entrepreneurs. She then pursued acting in Hollywood but became frustrated with the way women were portrayed on screen. This led her to write, direct, and produce the award-winning documentary film Miss Representation, which exposes the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence and challenges negative media portrayals of women. Jennifer's second film, The Mask You Live In, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015 and explores the harmful effects of society's narrow definition of masculinity. She is currently in post-production on her third film, The Great American Lie. Jennifer has also served as an executive producer on several documentaries, including The Invisible War and The Hunting Ground, which shed light on rape crimes in the U.S. military and on college campuses. She has been recognized for her work by various media outlets and has received numerous awards. Jennifer is a sought-after speaker and has spoken at prestigious institutions and conferences around the world. In addition to her work with The Representation Project and her filmmaking, she is involved with several other organizations and serves on commissions and advisory boards.
