Kate Garraway is a well-known British TV and radio presenter with over twenty years of experience. She started her television career in 1994 as a production journalist and news presenter for ITV News Central. Kate co-presented the South East edition of ITV News Meridian before joining Sky News in 1998 to co-host "Sunrise." In September 2000, she joined GMTV, where she co-presented GMTV Today and later shared hosting duties with Fiona Phillips and Emma Crosby. In 2009, she co-hosted GMTV with Ben until leaving in August 2010 to become the entertainment editor of Daybreak.
In December 2011, Kate became the main presenter for Daybreak on an interim basis. When the show was replaced by Good Morning Britain in 2014, she became one of the main co-presenters alongside Ben, Susanna, and Piers, a role she still holds.
In addition to her TV work, Kate participated in the fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing, finishing eighth, and has hosted a mid-morning show on Smooth Radio since 2014.
Kate is an ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has been involved in various charitable efforts. In 2020, she publicly thanked the nurses who cared for her husband during his battle with COVID-19, which ultimately led to his passing in March 2023.
In November 2024, Kate announced a new two-year contract with Smooth Radio, marking a significant milestone in her career as she celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary. Her dedication to media and philanthropy continues to make her a respected figure in the industry.
