Mark Teixeira is a former Major League Baseball first baseman who played for fourteen seasons with the Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and New York Yankees. He is widely regarded as one of the most prolific switch hitters in MLB history. Mark played a crucial role in the Yankees' 27th World Series championship in 2009, leading the American League in home runs and RBI. He finished second in the balloting for the Most Valuable Player Award that year. Mark was a three-time All-Star, winning five Gold Glove Awards and three Silver Slugger Awards. He also holds the all-time major league record for most games with a home run from both sides of the plate, with 14. Currently, Mark serves as an ESPN MLB analyst.
