Mónica is the CEO and founder of Zurita Madrid and NEST Solutions. As a B Corp certified company, Zurita aims to positively impact the planet. Its mission focuses on sustainability from all angles, while NEST applies best practices and methods to third parties, enhancing textile sustainability.
Her global experience provides Mónica with a deep understanding of clothing supply chains, particularly regarding traceability and sustainability. She has worked with blockchain technology and relevant certifications. Over the years, Mónica has developed and led various sustainability strategies and innovative business models, particularly in the challenging Chinese market. She coordinates teams, suppliers, and customers to find effective solutions to complex issues, believing that cooperation and entrepreneurship are essential for a sustainable future.
Mónica's passion for making the world a better place has driven her career in fashion. She recognized the conflict between her passions and the industry's impact on people and the planet. This led her to commit to using ethics and innovation to transform the fashion sector into a force for good. Zurita and NEST emerged from this dedication to leverage resources and connections for positive change.
Mónica founded Zurita in 2015. Before this, she revitalized another fashion company, achieving profitability within nine months after five years of losses. She also raised over $2 million and invested in more than 15 start-ups, helping them define their business models and strategies at a board level. With over eight years of experience in fashion, investment, and digital businesses in China, Mónica was named Entrepreneur of the Year in China in 2012 by Women in Business. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and Chinese.
