Alan Pardew | Speaker Biography

Renowned English football manager and former player
Led Newcastle United to European football
Pundit and analyst for Sky Sports

Alan Scott Pardew is a well-known English football manager and former player. He started his career at Yeovil Town before joining Crystal Palace in 1987. Pardew played an important role in helping Palace get promoted to the First Division in 1989 and scored the winning goal in the 1990 FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool, leading the team to the final, where they lost to Manchester United. While at Crystal Palace, Pardew helped the club achieve its highest league finish of third in the 1990-91 season and won the Full Members' Cup by beating Everton at Wembley. He began his management career in 1999 with Reading, gaining promotion from Division Two in 2002. Pardew then moved to West Ham United in 2003, leading them to promotion through the Championship play-offs in 2005 and reaching the FA Cup final that year, where they lost to Liverpool on penalties. Pardew managed Newcastle United from 2010 to 2014, winning the Premier League Manager of the Season and LMA Manager of the Year awards in the 2011-12 season, which led the team to European football. In January 2015, he returned to Crystal Palace, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract, achieving the club's best Premier League finish of tenth and reaching the FA Cup final in 2016, again losing to Manchester United. He later managed West Bromwich Albion from November 2017 to April 2018 but was let go due to poor performance. After his management career, Pardew became a pundit for Sky Sports during the 2017-18 Premier League season. He remains involved in football-related activities, including speaking engagements and coaching forums, using his extensive experience in the sport.
