Andrew Coyne is a Canadian journalist and columnist. He writes for the Globe and Mail and was formerly the national editor of Maclean’s magazine. Andrew's commentary on political and economic issues often sparks debate across Canada. His work has been featured in the Financial Post, Postmedia, and the Southam newspaper chain, as well as several international publications. He regularly appears on radio and television, notably as a panellist on CBC’s The National in the “At Issue” segment. Andrew has won two National Newspaper Awards and has been a finalist for the National Magazine Awards four times. He received the Hyman Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism and is a Fellow at the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Economics from the London School of Economics.
