Viking FK had brought in Bobby to give a talk on their annual sponsorship tour. I don't think there was a single soul among the 200 participants who didn't think this was an emotional presentation. Bobby had an enormously good mix between clear communication, examples, humor and emotion. There was no language barrier as he spoke clearly and referred to Norwegian places/names/words we all recognised. We invited Bobby Madley to a management network, and were curious as to whether the special situations a top football referee faces, with high performance pressure from all sides, could have learning value for business. Bobby was a very engaging speaker who delivered a top lecture with lots of humour, thoughtful observations and a very good interaction with the audience. Anecdotes from the inside of a 'special industry' were delivered with honesty and a slant. Own mistakes were also highlighted with sincere humility and learning. Bobby Madley visited the Trøndelag Football Referee Association at the end of September. There was an audience of about 50. A very exciting, funny and content-rich lecture where Madley offers funny stories, but mostly about what reflections he makes to cope with pressure and challenging situations. Bobby offers himself, and was very good at involving the audience in both thoughts and activities. This meant that it was not a pure monologue, but occasionally a dialogue with the audience. This made the lecture even better in my opinion. In addition, Madley is a very skilled communicator who got the whole audience involved from the start. I believe that the lecture is suitable for everyone, not just judges and others within the sports family. It can be business, organizations ++. It is largely about how you work to achieve your goal, and how you deal with ups and downs. The lecture is in English, but Bobby also understands Norwegian well, so there will be opportunities to ask questions in Norwegian.
