Colin Brazier is a British television presenter, author, and journalist. He was raised by his mother, a nurse, after becoming estranged from his father. He studied English literature at Cardiff University and served as Communications Officer for the Students' Union. He began his journalism career at The Northern Echo and the Yorkshire Post, with a brief stint at The Observer. Colin joined Sky News in 1997, taking on various roles, including presenter and correspondent. He reported on major events such as the 2003 invasion of Iraq, being the first British journalist to enter the country with coalition troops. His documentary 'Brothers in Baghdad' was shortlisted at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, and he received a gold medal from the New York TV awards for his reporting from Afghanistan. In February 2021, Colin left Sky News for GB News, co-hosting a show and later taking over the 8 pm slot. However, he was moved to a different time slot in January 2022 and was ultimately sacked in September 2022. In April 2023, he joined LBC to host late-night shows but left after less than six months to pursue farming studies at the Royal Agricultural University. Colin is also known for his media training work, providing sessions for companies and executives. He authored "Sticking Up For Siblings," which discusses his experiences as a father of six and advocates for larger families. A practising Catholic, Colin has written for the Catholic Herald and has been married twice. He is a keen cricketer and a member of the Lord’s Taverners charity. Colin faced controversy in 2014 for tampering with a victim's luggage at the MH17 crash site, which he later described as a "serious error of judgment." He has received several awards, including an International Emmy Award in 2016 for his coverage of the European migrant crisis.
