Colin Murray | Speaker Biography

Colin Murray, a renowned sports, music radio, and television presenter hailing from Northern Ireland, has made significant contributions to the broadcasting industry, working with   networks such as the BBC and Channel 5. Born on March 10, 1977, in Dundonald, a suburb of East Belfast, Murray's vibrant and inquisitive nature has been evident since his early years, perfectly aligning with his chosen career path.

Having pursued full-time journalism studies, Murray kickstarted his professional journey as a trainee news journalist for The News Letter, one of Northern Ireland's prominent daily newspapers. His passion for music led him to delve into music journalism, where he wrote for various newspapers and even established his own music magazine called BLANK.

Murray's breakthrough in radio and television came when he joined BBC Radio 1, eventually becoming the presenter of BBC Radio 5 Live's popular show, Fighting Talk. He also had the opportunity to showcase his presenting skills through his involvement in Channel 5's UEFA Cup football coverage and BBC's Match of the Day 2. In 2013, he made a transition to Talksport but later severed ties due to concerns regarding the association with The Sun newspaper. However, Murray eventually returned to his roots at BBC Radio 5 to resume his role as the host of Fighting Talk.

Recognized for his expertise in sports journalism, coverage of renowned music events like the Glastonbury Festival, and his captivating hosting of game shows and documentaries, Murray has achieved remarkable success throughout his career.
