David Weir is a Paralympic athlete and motivational speaker known for his remarkable achievements in sports and his commitment to promoting disability inclusion. He competes in the T54 classification for wheelchair athletes with spinal cord injuries. Weir made his Paralympic debut at the 1996 Atlanta Games and has since become one of the most celebrated Para athletes, winning ten Paralympic medals, including six golds. His standout performance came at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, where he secured four gold medals in the T54 800m, 1500m, 5000m, and marathon events, completing a demanding schedule of seven races over ten days. He also achieved success at the Beijing 2008 Games, winning two golds, a silver, and a bronze, and earned medals at the Athens 2004 Games and various European Championships. Additionally, Weir has claimed a record-breaking eight titles at the London Marathon, with his last victory in 2018.
