Isabel Garro is an expert in sustainable development and a economist with a varied career in the public sector, private sector, and civil society. She started in Business Administration and Management but soon focused on sustainability, a field that was not widely recognized at the time. Currently, Isabel is the Chief Sustainability Officer at Votorantim Cimentos, where she incorporates sustainability into business practices. She also teaches as an associate professor of Strategic Management at IE Business School and Competitive Social Transformation at the Complutense University of Madrid, focusing on sustainable development. Isabel has held important positions within the United Nations Global Compact, including 14 years as the general director of the Spanish Network, where she led Spain's sustainable development efforts. She has represented Spain in the Council of the European Union on the 2030 Agenda and chaired the Advisory Group of Local Networks of the UN Global Compact.
