Israel "DT" Del Toro, a Master Sergeant in the Air Force, faced incredible challenges after being severely injured by a landmine in Afghanistan. Doctors gave him a slim chance of survival and told him he would spend another year in the hospital, may never walk again, and would likely be on a respirator for life. However, DT was determined to keep his promise to his son - that he would never leave him without a father. With the love and support of his family and comrades, DT defied the odds and overcame his injuries.
