John Whaite is a British cook, author, content creator, and TV presenter. He gained fame in 2012 as the winner of The Great British Bake Off. Since then, he has worked in various studio kitchens, serving as a regular presenter and chef on Steph's Packed Lunch, co-presenting ITV's Chopping Block, and presenting Channel 4's Food Unwrapped. In 2021, he participated in Strictly Come Dancing as part of the first all-male couple, reaching the final. John has authored five cookbooks, including Comfort: Food to Soothe the Soul, which was recognised as a Book of the Year by BBC Radio 4's Food Programme. His memoir, Dancing on Eggshells: Kitchen, Ballroom & the Messy Inbetween, was published in 2023. He has contributed regularly to The Daily Telegraph and Delicious Magazine and has created recipes for Waitrose's online platforms. In 2024, he returned to baking with the launch of Ruff Puff Brownies. John is available for workshops and live demonstrations, which are popular at food festivals across the UK.
