Jordan Wylie is a British adventurer, author, television personality, and former soldier. He joined the British Army at 16 and served for ten years, specializing in military intelligence and reconnaissance, while also playing football for the Army.
After leaving the military, Jordan became a private military contractor, providing security services in maritime and private yacht sectors. He is a bestselling author, with his first book, "Citadel," detailing his journey from a council estate to soldiering and confronting piracy off Somalia. This book became a Sunday Times bestseller in November 2017. His second book, "Running for My Life," shares his running adventures in dangerous countries. Jordan is also known for his appearances on Channel 4's BAFTA-nominated shows, Hunted and Celebrity Hunted.
Jordan has openly discussed his struggles with severe depression and chronic anxiety, which he links to his military experiences and personal challenges. He advocates for mental health awareness, sharing his journey to inspire others and reduce stigma.
As a multiple Guinness World Record holder, Jordan has taken on extreme adventures for charity, including climbing Mt Kilimanjaro barefoot, rowing solo across the Bab El Mandeb Straits, and setting a record for the longest Standup Paddleboard journey around Great Britain. He also completed the Antarctica Extreme Ice Marathon.
Currently, Jordan serves as the national ambassador for the Army Cadet Force and volunteers with the Scouts and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. He continues to inspire resilience and promote mental health through public speaking, sharing the therapeutic benefits of adventure.
