He earned a Bachelor of Arts in advertising and an MBA from the University of South Florida. After graduation, Jordan struggled to find a job in New York City and returned to USF, where he started his own agency focused on the auto industry. In 1984, he founded Zimmerman Advertising, which became one of the largest advertising agencies in the world, with annual billings over $4 billion.
