For over twenty years, Ludovic Phalippou has researched the private equity industry and its continuous evolution. His findings often challenge widely accepted beliefs, leading to the publication of around ten articles in leading academic journals. These articles have been downloaded nearly 100,000 times and cited over 3,000 times, according to Google Scholar. His research has been presented at more than 100 universities and major conferences globally, and has been featured in prominent media outlets, including The Economist and The Financial Times. He has collaborated with large institutional investors on private equity investment decisions and benchmarking systems.
Ludovic has taught private equity for ten years to MBA and EMBA students and has developed various executive education courses, including tailored programmes for consulting firms and asset managers. He is a Faculty member of the Said Business School at the University of Oxford and a Fellow at The Queen’s College, where he serves on the investment committee.
Ludovic has received several awards, including teaching accolades from the University of Oxford and the University of Amsterdam. In 2014, he was named one of “The 40 Most Outstanding Business School Profs Under 40 In The World” by Poets & Quants. In 2016, Real Deals magazine recognised him as one of the 20 most influential individuals in private equity in Europe, the only academic on the list.
Ludovic has an extensive academic background, holding a Bachelor in Economic Engineering from Toulouse School of Economics, multiple Master’s degrees in Economics and Mathematical Finance from the University of Southern California, and a PhD in Finance from INSEAD.
