Martha Lawton, speaker, is a London based financial educator and money coach, and creator of the podcast Squanderlust, looking at the emotional side of money.
Martha has over 18 years’ experience helping people improve their financial wellbeing and exploring the psychological aspects of financial decision making and behavioural change. A passion for financial empowerment led her to begin her training as a financial advisor, from where she soon gravitated to financial inclusion and education in the non-profit sector.
Martha’s approach to financial wellbeing is centred on mindset and behaviour, taking into account the emotional side of financial decision-making. By offering practical strategies to help people take control of their finances in a way that aligns with their values and lifestyle, she helps address common anxieties faced by professionals who, in spite of leading successful careers, feel uncertain about money management.
In addition to her coaching work, Martha also consults for financial advisors, fintech for good, and social finance organisations, helping improve their products and services through better understanding of the psychology behind them. As the creator and host of the podcast Squanderlust, she offers a light-hearted exploration of why our financial actions often fall short of our intentions and ways to address them.
Martha combines her background in financial education, coaching, and behavioural economics with real-world insight to challenge common misconceptions about money, providing audiences with practical tools to manage their finances in ways that work for them.
