Peter Voser is a Swiss businessman and former CEO of Royal Dutch Shell. He studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences Zurich. Voser joined Royal Dutch Shell in 1982, taking on various finance and business roles in Switzerland, the UK, Argentina, and Chile. He became the Group Chief Internal Auditor in 1997 and was appointed CFO of Shell Europe Oil Products in 1999. In 2001, he became CFO of the Global Oil Products Business. From October 2004 to July 2009, he served as CFO of Royal Dutch Shell and was a member of the Oil Products Executive Committee. On July 1, 2009, he was appointed CEO, a role he held until December 2013. After retiring from Shell, Voser took on several leadership roles. He became Chairman of the St. Gallen Foundation for International Studies in September 2013 and served as a director of Catalyst, a non-profit focused on women's workplace opportunities, from April 2010. In 2015, he became Chairman of ABB Ltd and served as interim CEO from April 2019 to February 2020. He has been a board member of IBM since 2014 and has held positions at Temasek Holdings and PSA International. Voser is a member of the European Round Table of Industrialists and The Business Council, both of which address key international business issues. He has received several accolades, including the Order of Paduka Seri Laila Jasa from the Sultan of Brunei in 2011 and the Honorary Citizen Award from the Singapore Government in 2022. Voser is married to Daniela and has three children. He is recognized for his contributions to international business and governance.
