BlogLoginGet in TouchRebecca Irby was on the team winning the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize. She helps develops heart-centered leaders who are empathetic, mindful, and courageous.
Rebecca is a founder and award winning executive who works with governments from across the world, large institutions, Fortune 500 companies to the small start-up down the street. Rebecca guides and inspires teams with her transformational formula to become that inclusive, multicultural space that continues to thriving and outperform all others. It’s a simple formula that can be applied in any space, and Rebecca is excited to share it with you. Here’s to your continued growth and success!
Rebecca holds Consulting Status at the United Nations, and is regularly called to speak at High-Level UN forums; see video below. She opens spaces of peace and cross-cultural communication around the world.
Her mission is to help birth a new world full of empathy and equity. It is going to be uncomfortable and messy, and that's ok! Discomfort is our internal warning sign that something is off, not right. We need to get to a place where letting someone know they're being racist is like telling someone they have lettuce in their teeth. "…hey, oh yeah you, you got a little racism on your cheek there…no, no problem, happy to help. Hope someone would tell me if I was walking around with racism on my face! ".
Currently, at New Detroit, the nation's oldest racial justice coalition. Rebecca is the Director of Transformational Change. She leads New Detroit's Just Institute's consulting and training services.
Rebecca holds ECOSOC Special Consulting Status at the United Nations with her NGO PEAC Institute, where she is the Co-Founder and Board President. At the United Nations, she is on the Financing for Development Committee and sits on the Working Group on Climate Finance. Rebecca is one of the founding members of the Developing Safe & Civil Schools team, which helped create a new profession within education, the Social Emotional Learning Coordinator. With 18 years in the education sector, Rebecca is an educator and activist who opens spaces of peace and cross-cultural communication worldwide. Her work encompasses the creation of experience-based learning, social skill training, diversity & cultural awareness, and anti-bias/racism & communication training for corporations, organizations, institutions, and governmental groups.
Rebecca has spoken at and worked with prominent institutions and governments such as Harvard Law School, the Yale Policy Conference, the University of Michigan, NJ Department of Education, Rutgers University, the National Liberty Museum, The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, & Industry; The City of Hiroshima; The Hiroshima Peace Museum; Nagoya University; Gifu University; New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Det Norske Veritas (DNV), and The PyeongChang Global Peace Forum, to name a few.
