Richard Herring is a successful writer and performer known for his innovative podcast work. His show, Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (RHLSTP), consistently ranks in the Top 10 UK Comedy Podcast chart. With over 500 episodes, he has interviewed notable guests such as Michael Palin, Stephen Fry, Dawn French, and Eddie Izzard. The podcast has won three Chortle Internet Comedy Awards and is the only non-BBC show to receive a Sony Best Comedy Award. The Guardian has referred to him as “The Podfather.”
As part of the comedy duo Lee & Herring, Richard created and performed in shows like Lionel Nimrod’s Inexplicable World, Fist of Fun, and This Morning with Richard Not Judy. He collaborated with Al Murray on the sitcom Time Gentlemen Please, writing 37 episodes for Sky One and Paramount. Richard also wrote and starred in the comedy drama You Can Choose Your Friends for ITV1 and produced two series of Richard Herring’s Objective for BBC Radio 4. In 2022, he released the fourth series of his radio comedy Relativity.
Richard gained recognition as a contestant on Series 10 of Taskmaster in 2020, finishing second in the subsequent Champions of Champions series in 2022. He has appeared on various shows, including Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled, Pointless – Celebrities, and Have I Got News For You.
