Sharmadean Reid is an incredibly inspiring entrepreneur who has made a profound impact in the beauty and fashion industry. Her journey began in 2006 when she founded the fanzine WAH, with the aim of promoting females in creative industries. Through her blog and panel events, she quickly gained a global following, solidifying her position as a respected figure in the industry.
While building the WAH brand, Sharmadean also worked as a stylist and brand consultant for prominent youth brands such as Nike and ASOS. In 2009, she took her passion for beauty to new heights by opening WAH Nails, a revolutionary salon and creative space in Dalston. This establishment completely transformed nail culture and redefined beauty standards.
In recognition of her groundbreaking contributions to the beauty industry, Sharmadean was awarded an MBE in 2015. WAH Nails expanded its reach to London Fashion Week and enjoyed a successful pop-up salon in Selfridges. Sharmadean also launched FutureGirlCorp, a powerful platform that empowers women in leadership roles.
