Susannah Townsend is a distinguished field hockey player and coach from London, representing England and Great Britain in international competitions. She won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games and a bronze at the 2020 Olympic Games. Her medal tally includes three bronzes and one silver at the European Championships, a silver from the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and a bronze from the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
In August 2024, Susannah joined the coaching staff at Fairfield University as an assistant coach, bringing her extensive experience as a top player. She has been recognized for her contributions to the sport and was appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire.
