Susannah Townsend is a field hockey player and coach from London, representing England and Great Britain in international competitions. She won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games and a bronze at the 2020 Olympic Games. Her medal tally includes three bronzes and one silver at the European Championships, a silver from the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and a bronze from the 2018 Commonwealth Games. In August 2024, Susannah joined the coaching staff at Fairfield University as an assistant coach, bringing her extensive experience as a top player. She has been recognized for her contributions to the sport and was appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire. Previously, she coached youth teams at Kings School Canterbury and Reading Hockey Club, as well as younger teams at Lambrooke Grove School and first teams at Wycombe High School and Gordons School.
