Tim Peake is one of Britain’s most inspiring modern explorers. A former Army Air Corps pilot and test pilot, he rose to become the first British astronaut to fly with the European Space Agency and live aboard the International Space Station. His six-month Principia mission saw him complete a spacewalk, support critical repairs, and take part in over 250 scientific experiments orbiting Earth. His career spans front line military command, combat search and rescue, Apache helicopter operations, and high risk flight testing in support of operations in Afghanistan. He later became a senior test pilot before earning selection as an astronaut from more than 8,000 applicants. He was appointed a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George for services to space research and education, and is an ambassador for both STEM learning and the The Scouts.
