She has worked in both private practice and in the NHS at St Mary's Hospital Paddington, where she pioneered the role of maternity and pediatric psychotherapist. In 1994, she played a key role in the launch and establishment of the charity Child Bereavement UK, and she continues to serve as its Founder Patron. Julia's dedication and contributions to supporting bereaved children were recognized in 2015 when she was awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours list. She is also the author of the best-selling book, "Grief Works: Stories of Life, Death and Surviving." In addition, she holds the position of Vice President at the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and has been granted an Honorary Doctorate by Middlesex University.
