Robbed of his sight during childhood, Lex Gillette was determined not to fall victim to a world of darkness. Now, Lex is a five-time Paralympic medallist, four-time world champion, and the only totally blind athlete to shatter the 22-foot barrier in the long jump. As an ADN Hall of Fame inductee, Lex’s athletic talents have been featured on ESPN, Sports Illustrated, USA Today Sports, and People Magazine, to name just a few.
Off the field, Lex's vision extends far beyond the track. He dedicates himself to empowering minds on the essential values of resilience, perseverance, and the power of a dream. As a global inspirational speaker, Lex does more than share his story. He ignites a flame in others, challenging them to see more than what is in front of their eyes. Lex explores the importance of vision, how it plays a critical role in our ability to break down barriers and accomplish our biggest goals, and how the presence of a vision establishes a framework for endless potential and achievement.
