Lorraine Kelly OBE CBE is a Scottish television presenter, journalist, and bestselling author, best known for her ITV show, Lorraine. She has hosted various programmes, including The Last Leg, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, The STV Children’s Appeal, The Wheel, and Have I Got News For You. In 2006, she won the RTS Award for Best Presenter, and in 2008, she received a Scottish BAFTA.
In February 2024, Lorraine released her debut fiction novel, The Island Swimmer, which received five-star reviews and became a Sunday Times Bestseller. In 2019, she marked her 35th year in television and her 60th birthday, publishing Shine, a guide to enhancing daily life.
Lorraine produced documentaries for ITV to commemorate significant events, including the 25th anniversary of the Dunblane tragedy in 2021 and the 35th anniversary of the Lockerbie incident in 2023. She has collaborated with brands such as Beauty Pie, WW, and Tails.com, and her fitness DVDs have topped the charts.
From 2004 to 2007, Lorraine served as Rector of Dundee University and became Honorary Colonel of the Black Watch Cadets in 2009. In 2019, she was named National Honorary Colonel of the Army Cadet Force. She has completed the London Marathon three times and the New York Marathon once, participating in the annual “Moonwalk” to raise funds for charity.
A dedicated charity supporter, Lorraine is a patron of Help for Heroes and the STV Children’s Appeal. In 2012, she was awarded the OBE for services to charity and the armed forces, and in 2020, she received a CBE for her contributions to broadcasting, journalism, and charity.
