Robyn Exton's biography

At a glance

  • Founder of HER dating app for LGBTQ+ womxn
  • Creator of London Queer Fashion Show
  • Tech editor at Elle UK

Robyn Exton, a brand design and strategy professional, noticed a significant gap in the market for LGBTQ+ womxn and queer individuals. In response, she created HER, the first dating app specifically designed for LGBTQ+ womxn.

Since its inception in London, HER has expanded to connect queer womxn worldwide, with 7 million users in 113 countries. Additionally, HER hosts events in 15 cities, attracting 50,000 attendees annually. The company relocated to San Francisco after receiving investment from prominent Silicon Valley investors through Y Combinator.

While organizing events for HER, Exton observed the growth of queer fashion platforms and recognized the need for a similar platform in London. This led to the creation of the London Queer Fashion Show, which showcases LGBTQ+ designers and promotes inclusivity in the fashion industry.

Robyn's background includes contributing as a tech editor at Elle UK and serving on the board of The Yacht Week and Ski Week, focusing on connecting people through travel and adventure tourism. Her speeches often revolve around inclusivity and creating products and services catering to diverse identities.

What is Robyn Exton's speaking style like?

Robyn Exton draws on her experience building HER — a dating app with 7 million users across 113 countries — to ground her sessions in real product and business decisions, using her own company as a case study for how inclusivity can be embedded at every stage of development.

What topics does Robyn Exton specialise in?

Robyn Exton speaks on inclusive product and company culture design, LGBTQ+ identity in business, and building services that reflect diverse gender, sexuality, race, and religious identities. She is the founder of HER, the dating app for LGBTQ+ womxn, which has reached 7 million users across 113 countries since launching in London.

Does PepTalk charge a booking fee?

No. PepTalk adds no booking fee, so you pay the speaker's fee and nothing beyond it. The service, from shortlist through to contracts and event-day logistics, is included. For repeat or multi-event bookings, PepTalk can agree preferential rates with your procurement team.

What happens after I send a brief?

Share your event date, audience, format, objectives and budget, and PepTalk sends a hand-picked shortlist within 24 hours. Each suggestion comes with a profile, a fee and a recommendation on the strongest fit. Once you choose, PepTalk handles contracts, travel and logistics through to event day.

What does the typical fee range mean?

The typical fee range is the speaker's standard in-person fee in their home market, shown in their local currency. It moves with format, location, date and session length: virtual sessions and shorter slots usually cost less, while international travel and peak dates cost more. Send your brief to PepTalk and the team will confirm the exact fee in your currency.

Have all the speakers on the website worked with PepTalk before?

Not all of them, and it makes no difference to your booking. PepTalk's network of 15,000+ speakers covers talent the team works with directly alongside speakers represented by agents and agencies worldwide. PepTalk approaches the speaker, negotiates the fee and handles contracting either way.

How far in advance should I book a speaker?

Three to six months ahead is comfortable for most events, and 12 months is better for large conferences, peak-season dates or one specific in-demand speaker. Shorter timelines are workable, and PepTalk regularly fills last-minute and replacement bookings within days. Availability is the constraint, so get in touch as soon as you have a date.
