BlogLoginGet in TouchShiva Raichandani is a BAFTA-nominated non-binary British-Indian film and TV director, producer, screenwriter, dancer, and actor. Their works exist at the intersections of creating positive gender-expansive representation in mainstream media, addressing mental health stigma (especially within the South Asian context), and using the performing arts to drive positive social change. Raichandani was selected as a recipient of the 2023 BFI and BAFTA LGBTQIA+ Mentoring Scheme. They have been featured in H&M's Diwali Campaign, the U.K.'s first museum exclusively showcasing LGBTQ+ art and culture, and have addressed topics like diversity at the Cannes Lions festival. In 2021, Raichandani briefly appeared during a Bollywood-inspired performance in the 20th season of Strictly Come Dancing. Their BAFTA-nominated documentary "Always, Asifa" premiered at the BFI's London Film Festival in 2022. Raichandani also freelances as a speaker and consultant on inclusive LGBTQIA+ practices. In November 2018, Raichandani was featured on a Netflix-produced talk segment titled "What I Wish You Knew: About Being Nonbinary", where they discussed gender identity with other non-binary celebrities like Lachlan Watson.
