Emilie Bellet is the founder and CEO of Vestpod and the author of Amazon bestseller “You're Not Broke You're Pre-Rich”. Emilie launched Vestpod to change the conversation about money and empower women financially. Formerly working in private equity, Emilie started her career at Lehman Brothers where she worked as an analyst in private equity merchant banking. Reflecting on her years working in finance, she realised she was not saving or investing enough and could not find the support to do so. She then decided to launch Vestpod to provide education and a community for women to start breaking the taboo around money. Vestpod has been featured everywhere, including BBC News, Forbes, The Telegraph, The Guardian, the FT and Vogue to Glamour, Refinery29, Huffpost, Sheerluxe, Bustle, Harper's Bazaar, Courier and Cosmopolitan. Emilie also has a monthly finance column in i Paper.
Almost 8 in 10 UK employees take their money worries to work, affecting their performance (Money & Pensions Service). Research by Neyber estimates that money worries cost the UK economy £120bn and 17.5 million lost hours of work. Most employers now recognise a link between financial wellbeing and productivity, with nine out of ten saying that financial concerns impact upon staff performance. Employers have a key role to play. Financial empowerment is important to help employees feel secure and manage their money effectively and improve their financial wellbeing. This includes understanding products and services available to them in the workforce.
With the cost of living crisis, inflation and rising interest rates it's no wonder a lot of us are feeling lost about what to do with our finances.
