Professor Emma Parry is a prominent academic at Cranfield University, where she joined in 2002 as a Research Fellow in the Human Resource Research Centre. She holds a PhD and an MSc in Applied (Occupational) Psychology.
Emma is the author of "Managing People in a Contemporary Context" and has edited six other books. She leads the Changing World of Work Group and is a recognised expert in Human Resource Management. Her involvement in global research projects includes Cranet, a network of over 40 business schools focused on comparative HRM research, and 5C, which examines cultural and age differences in career attitudes across approximately 30 academic institutions.
Her research interests centre on how external changes affect people management, particularly regarding technological advancements, age demographics, generational diversity, and national context. Emma has also conducted extensive research on human capability within the defence sector.
In addition to her research, Emma serves as editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Human Resource Management and is the Series Editor for "The Changing Context of Managing People" book series. She is the current President of the Executive DBA Council and an elected member of the British Academy of Management Council.
Emma is a Fellow of the British Academy of Management and an Honorary Fellow of the Institute for Employment Studies. She is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Westminster Business School and an Academic Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
