Gerard Lyons is a British economist and author, recognised for his expertise in forecasting, financial markets, and global economic policy. With over thirty years of experience in both the public and private sectors, he has held key positions, including UK Chief Economist for Swiss Bank, Chief Economist and Executive Director of DKB International, and Global Head of Research at Standard Chartered Bank. He served as Chief Economic Advisor to the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, from 2013 to 2016. Lyons has contributed to major publications like The Times, Huffington Post, and The Financial Times, and has authored five books on economics. He holds a combined honours degree in maths and economics from the University of Liverpool, along with a Masters and PhD in economics.
