It’s time to celebrate here at PepTalk! For two reasons.  

  1. Our fantastic expert Gamal Tuwara won the Positive Role Model Award for Gender at the National Diversity Awards. 
  2. He headlined  our  first ever in person event ‘The Value of Belonging’.

 Let’s start with Gamal’s incredible win. 2022 has been a hugely successful year for Gamal. After releasing the short film ‘The Black Cop’ last year, Gamal garnered a lot of attention as the protagonist. Giving him the platform to spread his powerful message. Since his BAFTA win earlier this year, his incredible ED&I work has ramped up even more - speaking at huge events and helping businesses to create truly inclusive workplaces for all colours, genders, sexualities' and abilities. So, it’s no surprise that he was the winner of the Positive Role Model Award for Gender this year. A truly inspirational force who will continue to be a leading voice in conversations and change in equality, diversity and inclusion. 

Secondly, we held our first in person event at the Home Grown Club, London. Thank you to everyone who joined us - it was fantastic to meet you all. Our two keynotes Gamal and Mo Choukeir captivated the audience with their PepTalks diving into why inclusivity matters and understanding the journey prioritising ED&I.  Followed by a panel with Patrick Hutchinson, Jaspreet Kaur and Jen McGarrigle on how to create a welcoming and inclusive workplace. With all five experts sharing their own unique perspectives, knowledge and offering practical takeaway advice on how to help others feel belonging.  Finished off with a few drinks, a great evening was had by all.
