Eve Pollard is a well-known English author, journalist, and broadcaster, recognized as 'The First Lady of Fleet Street' for being one of the first female editors of a national newspaper in the UK. She started her career in 1967 as the fashion editor at Honey magazine and joined the Daily Mirror the next year. In 1985, she became the launch editor-in-chief of Elle magazine in the US. After returning to the UK, she edited the Sunday magazine for the News of the World and You magazine for the Mail on Sunday, and served as editor of the Sunday Mirror from 1987 to 1991 and the Sunday Express from 1991 to 1994. Eve has also made important contributions to television and radio, working as features editor for TV AM and creating the series 'Frocks on the Box' for ITV. She has appeared on 'Through the Keyhole' and as a guest panellist on 'Loose Women'. In recognition of her work, she was appointed OBE in 2008 and received the Journalist Laureate prize from the London Press Club in 2019. In addition to her media career, Eve has been involved in charitable work, serving as Vice-Chairman of Wellbeing of Women since 2003 and as Honorary President of Women in Journalism, which she founded in 1992. She has written a biography of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and co-written four novels.
