Dame Inga Beale, the former CEO of Lloyd's of London, is not only a prominent figure in the global insurance and reinsurance market but also a strong advocate for workplace equality. As a British businesswoman, she has made significant contributions to her industry and continues to inspire others through her work as a keynote speaker. In 2013, Beale made history by becoming the first female CEO of Lloyd's of London, a prestigious position in a business that has been operating for over 328 years. This achievement marked a revolutionary milestone in the journey towards gender equality. In the same year, she established the international Insurance Supper Club, a platform for leading female executives.
In addition to her contributions to the feminist movement, Inga Beale is also a member of the LGBT community. She has actively worked towards creating an inclusive and diverse working environment within insurance companies. In 2012, she launched the Pride@Lloyds network internally, which aims to promote inclusivity and diversity. Her efforts were recognized in 2015 when she became the first woman and openly bisexual person to be named at the top of the OUTstanding & FT Leading LGBT executive power list.
