Vincent E. Boles is a retired Major General of the United States Army with a distinguished career of over 33 years. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1976 after graduating from the Army ROTC program at Niagara University, where he earned a degree and was recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He also holds an MBA from Babson College.
Throughout his military career, Boles held various command positions, including leading logistics forces in Iraq and managing a significant ammunition life cycle. His last role was as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, G4, at the Pentagon, where he oversaw logistics operations for the Army's 1.1 million soldiers during major deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Boles participated in several combat operations, including Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and commanded the Army’s War Reserve equipment just before the 9/11 attacks, later leading 16,000 personnel in logistical support in Iraq.
After retiring in 2009, Boles founded a consulting practice focused on leadership and logistics. He shares his knowledge through speaking engagements with organizations like Deloitte and the United States Secret Service. He is also the author of the best-selling book "4-3-2-1 Leadership…What America's Sons and Daughters Taught Me on the Road From 2d Lieutenant to 2 Star General," now in its fifth printing.
Boles has received many honors, including being named a Paul Harris Fellow in 2004 and being inducted into the US Army Ordnance Corps and Niagara University Army ROTC Halls of Fame in 2011. He also received the President’s Medal from Niagara University.
Currently, Boles works as an Executive Coach for the US Army and is an adjunct professor at the Defence Acquisition University, using his extensive experience to help organizations improve their supply chains and overall performance.
