Rita Clifton is a well-known British advertising professional recognized for her contributions to branding and business leadership. She started her career at JWT and later moved to Saatchi & Saatchi, where she was Vice Chairman. In 1997, she joined Interbrand UK as Chief Executive and became Chairman in 2002, serving in that role for ten years. In 2013, she co-founded the global consultancy BrandCap, which she eventually sold. Rita has held various non-executive directorships, including positions at Bupa, Nationwide Building Society, ASOS.com, and Dixons Retail. She has also been Chairman of Populus Ltd and President of the Market Research Society. Rita is actively involved in sustainability efforts, serving as a Trustee for WWF-UK, on the Sustainable Development Commission, and as Chair of The Conservation Volunteers. Currently, she is Deputy Chair and Non-Executive Director of John Lewis Partnership, Chair of the Forum for the Future, and a Trustee of the Green Alliance. She has written several books on branding, including "The Future of Brands," "Brands and Branding," and "Love Your Imposter." In recognition of her work, she was appointed a CBE in 2014 and has been called "The doyenne of branding" by Campaign Magazine and a "Brand guru" by the Financial Times. Rita has been married to Brian since 1999, and they have two daughters. Her career showcases her commitment to branding, business leadership, and sustainability.
